We promote, encourage and support community level actions and initiatives that move Calgary towards a sustainable future.
Our work aims to support the long-term health and vitality of Calgary and its citizens, guided by 7 domains in our State of Our City reports.
Recent Projects
The βSpot Onβ podcast helps post-secondary students develop and share their vision of a sustainable future: βWe get to spotlight the innovative climate action happening across Calgary campuses and beyond. Together, weβre eager to use relatable storytelling and interviews to connect local voices with national sustainability goals and inspire meaningful change in our community. β
The Connaught Open Street is a collaborative, community-led project that provides a safer way for kids to get to school.
At Sustainable Calgary, weβre on a mission to create healthy, just and and thriving neighbourhoods. The great news? Healthy cities are a win-win! They're beautiful. They make us happier. They drive prosperity.
Hereβs our approach: we collaborate with fellow Calgarians, envisioning neighbourhoods that are healthier, more convenient - and a whole lot of fun! We identify community priorities, dive into research, team up with incredible designers, prototype real life changes, and collect metrics of success. Then we amplify our impact by sharing key insights with decision-makers.
